Holiday in Hokkaido, Japan 12th December to 18th December 2015
My daughter had always wanted to visit Japan and since the tour organized by MT vacation coincided with her leave, we decided to go for it. The trip cost a total of RM11776 for 2 excluding insurance. Our flight took off at 2315 and landed at Chitose airport at 0910 local time.
It was not a hectic tour compared to other destinations. It was more of a leisurely type of holiday where we were not rushed from one tourist spot to another. We had a wonderful time there. We were lucky to see snow flakes falling from the sky as it happened on our second last day of our departure. We were not the only happy ones.......all in our group, whether young or old, were also happy. They said they planned a winter trip to Hokkaido to see snow. It would have been a disappointment if snow failed to fall during their time there. Some actually waited the whole night to see the snow as it was predicted that it would fall that night. They ran down from their hotel room to the hotel grounds to feel the snow. It really snowed heavily the next morning. A couple of hours of snow and the whole place was white.........looked like a Christmas postcard.
Japanese are very polite and clean. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable. Not as big as those in Taiwan but big enough for the 2 of us. The toilets there were super clean. Wonder how they kept the toilets stain free. No urine smell or scraps of paper everywhere.
We were not worried about the freshness of the raw food. They were really fresh. We had an overdose of crabs/seafood. There were crabs, crabs , crabs ........no limit to how much you eat.We came home with sweet memories of the place and if time and pocket permits, we will go there again. This time, maybe in spring to see the flowers.
